Hi, my name is Robert Wessels and I am running for Maine Governor in 2026. I am running for governor because I believe in Maine. I firmly believe that we can lower taxes and turn this economy around. I am a lifelong Republican and a huge advocate for personal FREEDOM, including the 1st and 2nd amendments. This won't be easy (most things worth doing aren't!), but it will be worth it! My philosophy is that life is going to have its difficulties, but we have the option to choose to voluntarily do the hard things now, in order to avoid the extremely hard later in life. For example, we can get off the couch and be active now (hard), to avoid health related issues later in life (harder). For Maine, cutting our budget will be hard, but leaving it this high will be harder! Winning parental rights in our schools will be hard, but NOT winning those rights will be even harder! Turning the state around will be hard, but NOT turning it around will be even harder for all of us! We need a leader that is willing to look at the long-term and make the tough decisions, and I am up to the challenge! I am excited that you found this site and one more person that can get to know me. I hope you enjoy the process! The "Meet Robert" and "Platform" sections are a great place to start and don't forget to sign up for updates to stay up to date on what is going on with our movement! Thanks again for coming, and please do not hesitate to reach out! -Robert
